This historic village on Haida Gwaii has an outdated Oficial Community Plan (OCP) and have engaged the Whistler Centre for Sustainability and KSalin Land Planning to conduct a review of existing zoning and create an Integrated Official Community Plan. The main categorical policy areas are: Land Use and Natural Areas / Residential Areas and Housing / Commercial and Industrial Systems / Infrastructure Systems / Recreation, Culture and Learning / Individual and Community Health.
The team is conducting a thorough review of the existing zoning, work with stakeholders and the Village Staff to prepare a thoughtful, relevant and current Official Community Plan that reflects the nature of this unique remote location and its community.
