For over 26 years Kristina Patterson has been working in landscape architecture, planning, visual resource management, public facilitation, and project management in urban design, tourism and resort development. Projects have involved many  sectors, and both private and public interests including large and small-scale operations.

Based in Whistler BC, Kristina has focused much of her professional work in land developresort planning toward increasing sustainable tourism capacities in resort communities. Tourism planning projects include research, tourism assessment and feasibility studies in ecotourism, heritage tourism, hotel development and strategic planning for tourism operators.

Landscape Architecture

ANKA Landscape Architecture has 26 years of urban design, planning and landscape architecture experience with a wide range of projects and clients. Kristina Patterson (Salin) is a licensed landscape architect in BC. Kristina  has extensive experience working in the US + Canada on civic, institutional, event, commercial and residential landscape architecture projects.

 

Urban Planning

ANKA Landscape Architecture conducts planning studies, Official Community Plan amendments, zoning and development approvals, long range policy creation, sustainability planning, regional growth strategies and agricultural plans. Kristina Patterson (Salin) is experienced in Visual Landscape Inventory work with the Ministry of Forests going back 26 years. Kristina is well versed in local British Columbia planning laws, regulations and statutory regulations including the BC Local Government Act and BC Community Charter.

 

Visual Landscape Management

Kristina Patterson has years of experience with Visual Resource Inventory, Analysis and Viewshed Managment. Her projects range from work with Forestry in BC to Agriculture and Hydro Facilities. Kristina and her team have conducted both large scale visual inventories and analysis and smaller scale visioning excercises to retain neighbourhood viewsheds, vernacular and sense of place alonn.
