Kristina Salin is contracted to Environmental Defence Canada as the the British Columbia Coordinator for Blue Flag certification.
The Blue Flag is an internationally recognized eco-label that is awarded to clean and sustainably-managed beaches and marinas. The Blue Flag Program is owned and operated by the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE) in Denmark. In 2015, over 4,000 beaches and marinas in 49 countries were awarded the Blue Flag. A Blue Flag is awarded annually by an independent jury based on a beach meeting the Blue Flag criteria in the prior year.
Kristina has conducted studies for Gyro Beach in Osoyoos, Rainbow Beach in Whistler, One Mile Lake Beach in Pemberton and Gibson’s Marina in Gibsons.
