This Rejuvenation of Golfer’s Approach project is an undertaking of the Resort Municipality of Whistler (RMOW) prepared by KSalin Land Planning (KSLP). The project intent is to rejuvenate the portion of Village Stroll between Whistler Way and Village Square, and up to the edge of the Conference Centre’s surface parking lot, known as Golfer’s Approach.
This area is the primary portal to the world class Whistler Conference Centre and this civic design project aims to rejuvenate the open space and entry portals to the Village Stroll in a meaningful way that augments and supports the plethora of programing and multitude of year round conference events, staged out of the Whistler Conference Centre, Rainbow Theater and the surrounding plaza. In turn the adjacent businesses, elevated stroll, planting, lighting schemes and retail window visibility will be enhanced through this comprehensive look at the Golfer’s Approach Plaza. The interface between the Conference Centre and the pedestrian Stroll and the three ‘portals’ into the space are of primary importance in this study area.
