The Tilley Memorial Park Master Plan seeks to improve this historically rich, Columbia Lake park with increased boat launch capabilities and an enhanced park experience for beach and park users.
There are challenges at this park with confined space and environmental restrictions which require innovation in site design and environmental stewardship. Increasing boat launch capacity, upgrades to washrooms and facilities and increased picnic areas and a children’s playground are key objectives of the park design. There are multiple stakeholders and agencies involved in the collaboration. Changes will include a natural play area, doubling the boat launch capacity, separating the flows of traffic for vehicles, boat trailers and pedestrian/cyclists, upgrading facilities and general beautification of the park.
